Titanium grade 2 is the grade that is fully commercial in nature. It is having very good corrosion resistance ability in an oxidizing condition. It is effectively resistant against stress corrosion cracking, crevice corrosion and pitting at the chloride solution (below 70 Deg C). Titanium GR2 is used in the heat exchangers wherein the low thermal conductivity of Ti is there still the efficiency of heat transfer is greater due to its good strength and greater resistance to the erosion-corrosion. At room temperature Grade 2 is the alpha alloy that transforms to the beta phase at temperature ranging to 913±15 Deg C and it returns on cooling at temperature ranging to 890±15 Deg C.

Titanium Grade 5 is completely pure alpha-beta titanium alloy with the addition of alloy like aluminum and vanadium as an alpha stabilizer and beta stabilizer. This alloy is mainly preferred for its corrosion resistance property and is widely used in all the product forms. The alloy is featuring excellent tensile strength, corrosion resistance, and good strength at various temperatures.
