Alloy 20 is one of the so-called "Super" stainless steels that was designed for maximum resistance to acid attack. It's nickel, chromium, molybdenum and copper content contribute to its overall resistance to chlorideon stress corrosion cracking and general pitting attack. The alloy is stabilized with columbium to minimize carbide precipitation during welding. It has good mechanical properties and can be fabricated with comparative ease. Athough the alloy was designed for use in sulfuric acid related industries, it finds wide usage throughout the chemical processing industry. It also is used for processing pharmaceuticals, food, gasoline, solvents, plastics, explosives, synthetic fibers and many other products.
Silver Tubes, a leading exporter, manufacturer and stockiest, is known for its high-quality Alloy 20 products for its global clients. We prefer the best quality alloy to produce products like forged fittings, pipe fittings, tubes, pipes, sheets, plates, capillary pipe and tubes, rods, bars and more. We have massive varieties and ranges of these products. Core industries use our pipes, tubes, sheets, plates and other products.
More info on Alloy 20:
Carpenter 20, alloy 20 or UNS N08020 are some
other common names of this alloy. This austenitic alloy consists of nickel, iron, and
chromium. It is known to work specifically in sulfuric acid as it was originally designed to
provide resistance against acid attack. Hence it is also known as superalloy. It has
excellent resistant properties that work against corrosion, crevice corrosion, pitting,
chlorides, and phosphoric, sulfuric and nitric acids.
Addition of niobium to the alloy 20 improves stabilization against
sensitization. It also resists corrosion caused by intergranular interference. Other
properties of the alloy include easy fabrication, outstanding mechanical properties, and
minimal carbide precipitation.
Industries like chemical, food, plastic and pharmaceutical industries use our products made
of this alloy. Heat exchangers, pickling equipment, metal cleaning, piping, and mixing tanks
use his alloy.
Sheets, plate, bar, fittings, pipe, and tubes are a common product that are made using alloy
20. All the characteristics are reflected in these products. We comply ASTM/ASME standard to
ensure that our products suits with the industrial needs and global standards at reasonable
prices.
