Alloy 309S or UNS S 30908 is a low carbon version of 309 SS alloy. It is used for its fabrication ease. Alloy 309s is the austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel used for the greater temperature services. Because of high nickel and chromium content, alloy 309s becomes highly resistant to corrosion and is also having very well resistant to oxidation and is excellently resistant to heat addition to providing greater strength at elevated and room temperature. Grade 309S is having low carbon composition that is minimizing carbide precipitation and is enhancing welding ability. Before the dispatching of the SS seamless tubes, it is compulsorily sent for the testing. The testing is done to check the tubing strength and quality. The test that is done on it is hardness testing, IGC/PMI testing, chemical analysis and many more. These tubings are packed in the wooden boxes and it is wrapped with the help of polyethylene sheets for ensuring full safety against scratches or damages that it could get.
